Last week, I had the joy of meeting up with a very special friend for lunch at Aromas Grill here in Aromas, California — the one and only Easter Bunny.

We shared a table, a few laughs, and a heartfelt conversation that reminded us both what these special seasons are really about.

At first glance, Christmas and Easter may seem very different. One brings thoughts of manger scenes, carols, lights, and the celebration of Christ’s birth. The other brings spring sunshine, blooming flowers, and the celebration of Christ’s resurrection. But when the Easter Bunny and I sat down together last week, we both agreed on something important:

Christmas and Easter are both about JESUS.

Christmas reminds us that Jesus came into the world — God’s gift of love sent for all mankind. Easter Sunday reminds us that Jesus gave His life for us and rose again so that we could have hope, grace, forgiveness, and eternal life through Him.

Over lunch at Aromas Grill, the Easter Bunny and I talked about how easy it is for people to get caught up in the decorations, the baskets, the presents, the meals, and all the excitement of the season. Those things can be joyful and fun, and there is certainly nothing wrong with celebrating in festive ways.

But the heart of it all is not found in the wrapping paper or the Easter grass.

The heart of it all is Jesus.

Christmas is about the birth of our Savior.
Easter Sunday is about the victory of our Savior.
Both point to the greatest truth of all: God loves us.

That is the story worth telling in every season.

As Santa Mark, I love bringing joy, wonder, kindness, and tradition to families everywhere. But the greatest joy of all is remembering the One who gives lasting peace and everlasting life. The Easter Bunny felt the same way as we talked together — that beyond every symbol of the season, the greatest message we can share is the message of God’s love through His Son, Jesus Christ.

“For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” — John 3:16

So whether it is Christmas morning or Easter Sunday, whether you are gathered around a tree or seated around the table with family and friends, may your heart be pointed to the true reason for hope, joy, and new life.

From lunch at Aromas Grill to the blessings of springtime, this special meeting was a beautiful reminder that every season can point us back to the same truth:

It’s all about Jesus.
