🎅 Ho! Ho! Ho! The Elves Have Been After Me Again!
Well, my friends, it seems even Santa Claus can’t escape the march of modern technology!
For quite some time now, my elves have been telling me that I need to GET WITH THE TIMES!
🧝 “Santa, you really ought to look into this artificial intelligence thing!”
🧝 “Santa, did you know AI can answer questions around the clock?”
🧝 “Santa, imagine having someone help with your appointments while you’re busy visiting children!”
And of course, there’s always that one particularly enthusiastic elf who insists AI is going to change EVERYTHING!
Now, those of you who know me probably won’t be surprised to learn that…
🎅 I’M A BIT OF AN OLD-SCHOOL KIND OF GUY!
I believe in handwritten Christmas letters, a good old-fashioned handshake, looking someone in the eye, and taking time for a real conversation.
I’ve been portraying Santa Claus since 1975 — long before smartphones, websites, or anyone asking artificial intelligence to write their Christmas lists!
Back then, if someone wanted to reach Santa, they wrote a letter, picked up the telephone, or visited him at a Christmas celebration.
And you know what?
Those things still work pretty darn well!
But I must admit…
🎄 THE ELVES HAD A POINT!
📅🎁 EVEN SANTA COULD USE A LITTLE HELP!
These days, Santa Mark’s calendar gets rather busy!
Between:
🏡 Magical Santa home visits
🏫 Schools and preschool celebrations
🏢 Corporate Christmas parties
🎄 Community festivals and holiday events
📸 Pictures with Santa
📖 Storytime with Santa
🎅 And all the other wonderful Christmas celebrations throughout California…
There are quite a few details to keep track of!
And while I genuinely enjoy speaking personally with everyone planning a Santa experience, sometimes I’m visiting with children, traveling between events, or otherwise occupied with important North Pole business.
That’s when the elves suggested I consider an AI ASSISTANT.
I wasn’t entirely convinced.
After all…

Good grief!
At this rate, we’ll need a whole new department at the North Pole!

Over the years, I’ve watched the world change in ways I could never have imagined when I first began portraying Santa Claus back in 1975.
We’ve gone from handwritten letters to emails, from film cameras to smartphones, and now from answering machines to artificial intelligence.
But through all those changes, one thing remains constant.
The true magic of Christmas isn’t found in technology, decorations, or even the presents beneath the tree.
It’s found in love, kindness, generosity, faith, and the joy we bring into one another’s lives.
For me, Christmas is also a beautiful reminder of the greatest gift of all — the birth of Jesus Christ.
And no matter how modern our world becomes, those are the things I hope we never forget.
So yes, Santa Mark has finally welcomed a little artificial intelligence into his North Pole operation.
